On the 5th of May, during the April holidays, the Japanese children’s day took place: Kodomo no hi. Our teacher Akiyo, in charge of the origami workshops on Monday afternoon, explained to the children that in Japan, the 5th of May is the children’s day, an ancient celebration of boys in the samurai culture. On this day, on balconies, in schools, over rivers, carp-shaped fish, called Koinobori 🎏, symbolising success and strength, are floated in the wind to wish the children good health.
